This is the one that Harry caught - I missed this particular fish about 30 minutes earlier... looks small but it was a big one...

Here is what happens after a great rain fall on Lake Waco... this bucket of fish will feed the Texas Realtors group that has booked us this month... Harry and Sas did their part all I had to do was drive the boat!!!!

FISHING BREAK - COLLEGE FOOTBALL...

Harry, Sassy and I took a break from fishing - Harry and I were concentrating on opening day college football - if you look close - you can see us to the right - 35 rows down seat 3 & 4. I’m the one with the funnel cake and powdered sugar on my face. BTY - BU won the opener over Sam Houston State!
42,300 people came out for the opener! Great atmosphere - I encourage everyone to get out and support their favorite team(s) - its even better when you take someone to act silly with!!!! Harry and I had GREAT FUN! Since my Dad always said, "The best education is caught--not taught." Fishing will start back tomorrow 5:45 am - if anyone is interested...see you on the lake!

Sunset and Tom the Hissing Turtle....

Leni has told me that I have TOO MANY pictures of the sunset and sunrise. But, since she allows me to be in charge of this blog - I figure I have free artistic roaming rights and therefore - here is a another beautiful sunset.It is hard to tell from the picture - but, like most ALL the fish we catch - This turtle looks small in the image - but, actually it is the size of a Volkswagon. Sas and I caught him on accident and had to bring him on the boat to take the hook out of his mouth – that was painfully fun!!! Note to all Turtle Catchers: TURTLES CAN BE FAST – I have a bite to prove it!!!
This Turtle, we named him Tom, got a BIG attitude - guess it was the hook in Tom’s mouth that got him cranky!Sassy was NOT HAPPY about Tom being on the boat.

This is one of the prettiest sun rises - I am getting older (little wiser - believe it or not!!!) - I am appreciating more and more of the simple gifts from God...

WE'RE BACK.....and it is HOT!!!!!

Well it was plenty hot out there tonight - but, the fishing Gods have called - so, we are heading back to the honey holes to see if we can bring in a few...AND we get to see beautiful sites like this one...
This is my buddy Rick - he has a nose for smelling out the fishing spots...

BLAME IT ON THE RAIN!!!!

Not too sure why - but, the catfish really love to bite during and shortly after a rain shower... We have been very fortunate with the rain and SOMEWHAT cooler temps.


Here is the last of our most resent fish fry. This one was a benefit for a Church near our house - they were raising money for a Summer Youth Camp trip... We had planned for 75 participates and LUCKLY we were ready for 107!!! This one was a great success!!!

Belton Mornings

Belton is a GREAT lake and a Texas Secret!!! This is a Gray Egret watching us take off this morning. Over the past few mornings i have had the opportunity to fish this lake with my buddy's Barnie and Rick. They must be good luck because we caught almost 60 pounds of fish in a very short time...
For some reason the Fish are consistently bigger in Belton.

Well, this is the last picture from Lake Waco for a while - I am pretty sure Sassy and I fished out all of the Catfish from our favorite spots. Now we are headed to Lake Belton...to conquer the Cats!!! Reports will be coming soon.

HOT! HOT! HOT!

It is WAY TOO HOT... this Sun Perch was bigger than many of the Catfish Sassy and I caught this morning!!! We had only 3 keeper size and about 20 under a pound! Night fishing is starting to be the way to go! If you are interested in a Night Charter - let me know!!!

I did let him go... this was 4.5 pounder!
