ROXY...
Had a few people ask me to post pictures of the
REEL TIGHTLINE CAPTAIN...

It was either my good friend Barnie or my Uncle John (Steinbeck) that said, “I’ve seen a look in Roxy’s eyes, a kind of quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically Roxy thinks the TIGHTLINE CREW (minus her) is nuts!”

I know she loves me, even though I would NOT share the super secret Catfish bait (hotdogs).

From time to time - she will help us cull out the smaller ones.

Pretty good haul this morning... 18 keepers (blues and channels) 26lbs

MAN ON A MISSION!
We just left the "bubbles" which is an aerating system near the dam... the SHAD love to congregate there - which we all know is illegal right now with CORONA... so, Rick and I broke up the party!
Don't let that clean shirt fool you - he's about to get it fishy!

Here is a small portion of the congregating shad caught... We casted about three times (approx 300+ shad) to collect these "mouthwatering delights" Catfish LOVE!

It's not always Catfish we catch... here is a good size crappie.

Sporting the "How Big is Your Want To" shirt my Brother Alex creates and sales! And a small mouth bass.

Small numbers today - 11 Cats 15 lbs.

This was a rare treat for me and Roxy this morning... a Bald Eagle!

That is NOT a second Eagle - that is what my grandpa called a "TX Vulture Turkey" (buzzard)!

This one allowed me and Roxy to get pretty close, it was beautiful!
Come see for yourself - go catfishing with us!

TIGHTLINE WAY OF SOCIAL DISTANCING!
Twin Bridges on Lake Waco - hardly anyone on the lake.

Changed up the bait today and went with NightCrawlers (worms)... interesting fact: worms do not have lungs they breath thru there sink - that is why you see them more often after a heavy rain.

We have created a lot of waves in this Yacht!
Smooth waters and 81 degrees!

16 keepers today!  Blues and Channel Cats.
Ready for a fish fry!

Co-Captain Rick King with a Channel Cat.
YES! we are keeping our distance...

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES...

Roxy, Rick and I tackled the muddy white caps of Lake Waco...

Not sure what we were thinking (obviously, we were not) - we did have our life vest handy and we did find 17 keepers!

You know what they say, the rough times will make you stronger ...
And appreciate the calm waters ahead!!!!

TIGHTLINE FISHING IS BACK...

SOOOO, since we have a little time on our hands, Roxy, Rick and I decided that because the Catfish probably will not cough or sneeze on us - we would go out and RE-introduce ourselves to them!

TIGHTLINE CATFISHING IS BACK... (for now).

This is a BLOG about Catfishing (REEL FISHING) and some random stuff.  I thought i'd write & post pictures on the days that we went fishing and/or when I had a "Kevin Thought" worth mentioning and obviously that's not daily
First thought - Happy Easter! Or, as Leni likes to say, "Pascha" (her family is Greek and Macedonian). We will miss having the kids and grandkids over to hide Easter Eggs...
2019 Easter: (l-r)  Addelyn, Wilder, Owen, Harper and Lilly

Second, like most of us, I am praying for the families this virus has affected. I am praying that we get back to a stronger way of life in due time... and finally, I am thankful and praying for all our Doctors, Nurses and other "essential" workers putting themself
"on the line" for all of us!

Now the catfishing part...

Catfish Whisperer/Co-Captain Rick, went out on Lake Waco with me this morning even though he knew there was a good chance we'd be in some heavy rain showers.  He made me laugh when he said "Good friends don't let their Friends do stupid things alone."

We caught 33 keepers and never had a drop of rain.

33 Cats (blues and channels) 38 pounds... secret bait - toH sgoD!

THE TREE - is one of our secret spots.  Water temp is 67 degrees and it's about 10 feet deep.

AND FINALLY
Saw this while trying to avoid the rush for the last roll of TP:

Let me know how your doing while in QUARANTINE?!?!?

ROXY
Its hard to explain all the reasons dog are so special to us... I am pretty sure Roxy is on the earth to show me what unconditional love looks like...
Roxy was given to me by Rick - Rick is co-captain of the USS Sassy Mini-Yacht

Early evening fishing on Lake Waco - very calm and COLD!!!!

Pretty sure she is wondering if I know where I am am...

Not sure if Roxy is happy that I found our way back to the dock OR the fact that we had our super secret bait - hot dogs - left over...

This is Lacy Point dock and boat ramp... very good condition and near one of our favorite fishing holes!
