Sunday Church Fish Fry...

Besides the fishing - we love the cookin and friendships we gain from our TightLine adventures... Today (Sunday 7/11/10), Leni, Rick and I got to take part in a church celebration for our friend Joyce Heckmanm and 40 of her friends... We set up our tent and cookers outside the Church. Here are some of the people enjoying the morning and lunch after the service. This is Chris (on the left) and his sister and brother. Chris was a BIG help today. You can tell they love their Church and the wonderful congregation. Thanks for your help today Chris!!! Here are a few more members taking part in the Sunday celebration...
And Finally, this is a photo of Pastor Paul and Joyce and me. When all was said and done we had a super party of about 40-50 people.

I will not lie to you...

This is the SAME bass ...
We caught it on a Perch and it looks much larger in Ricks picture... SEVEN POUNDS!!!!
Thanks has to go out to Harry - he suggested fishing this spot - SOOOOO - there you go - we caught 4 catfish at 2.5 pounds each and this large mouth bass at 7+ pounds... FUN!!!!

This is Sassy and me on the way to a "Not-So Hot Spot" - it is hard to see it but there is a big Crane flying in front of the boat about 50 yards...Believe it or not - we only caught ONE keeper size... so we took a picture and threw it back. I told this fish that Sas and I would be back tomorrow morning and for him to bring his friends... we will see what happens!

AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT...

My dad has always told me... "hard work = lots of luck" - We have been baiting out the right spots lately and 'as luck would have it' it been paying off...
This is one of the bigger catfish we caught this past weekend... Rick is a proud 'TightLiner' of this 7.5 pound Blue Cat.
I try not to advertise my personal boat motor too much... so, I will draw your attention to the 3.5 pound Blue Cat.

Coastal NON-fishing trip...

I committed one of the WORST crimes a fisherman could commit - I went to the coast and FORGOT my fishing poles.... I am having senior HOURS lately! We had a GREAT time and the weather was awesome (but, Africa hot). This pelican let me get an arms length away before he gave me the "leave my area" look. I pray this oil does not hit our Texas beaches hard. More fresh water fishing to come SOON!!!!

WELL - it could not have been a nicer fishing day... Awesome sunset - this time of the year it is GREAT to fish in the evening...We caught 12 keepers and bunch of throw-backs for later catches...Give us a call if you want to go "Tightlining" with us... Hope you like the pictures...

I GUESS THATS WHY THEY CALL IT FISHING and not catching!!!!

Well, I was hoping for a BIG fishing morning on Lake Belton - it was a good morning but, very slow!!! We caught 21 but, only kept 5.Here is a good picture of the 36 bridge this morning... very calm but, cloudy...

WET - BUT, SUCCESSFUL!!!!

It was very rainy today and the catfish love that... we caught 33 and kept 12. The only thing that stopped us today was the threat of lightning...I am crazy - but lightning is not a good mix with us boaters...Here are two of the keepers!

Catching a lot - BUT- not the right size!!!!

Hard to believe Rick did not need help bringing in this WHOPPER!!! We have caught well over 60 fish in the last two days and we could have kept 8 of them!!!! Very small - but, still a lot of fun!!! Notice how this one ALMOST bent the pole... I am pretty sure that Sassy was laughing at us!!!

My guess is she is thinking about a Fish Fry!?!?!Sassy and I usually do not give out fishing secrets - BUT, this is us leaving one of our Honey Holes...
